With the launch of the first medical devices in more than 30 years, we can expect a lot more to come soon.
While the number of devices has increased significantly, the design, materials and manufacturing processes are all new.
What we do know is that we can get an idea of what a device will look like from its dimensions and materials, and how it will perform on our bodies.
