U.S. law enforcement officials are investigating a possible bribery scheme involving U.K.-based medical devices company Choyang Medical Instruments, a company that manufactures some of the medical devices used in the United States.
The FBI is working with British officials to determine if the bribery scheme is part of a broader conspiracy, a U.N. official said Thursday.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing, said the FBI has identified potential victims of the scheme who have been offered millions of dollars in bribes.
The officials did not provide details on the amount of money involved.

The company was founded in China in 2011 and is based in the eastern city of Fuqing.

(AP) China has arrested two former British officials who allegedly coordinated the bribery of a U .ks. businessman by a company called Choyax, the Associated News reported.
China’s state media reported Thursday that Li Shaojun and Zheng Yuanfeng were charged with crimes involving bribery, obstruction of U. s justice and conspiracy, according an article in The Wall St. Journal.
The two are members of the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Standing Committee of Ministers, the report said.
The news agency said that Li and Zheng were accused of helping a businessman obtain patents for medical devices from Choyadges Medical Technologies, an entity owned by a businessman named Huang Yongfu.
Huang was sentenced to four years in prison for accepting bribes from Choys company in a deal that ended in 2010.
Choys subsidiary was bought by Chongqing Medical Technologies in 2012 and renamed Choyange Medical Technologies.
In the United Kingdom, Choyaeqing is a subsidiary of Choyong, a subsidiary that is owned by Huang’s company.
